Part 1 of this session will be an online training through Microsoft Teams. You will receive a link to join the meeting once your registration has been approved.The online Microsoft Teams training will be held on Friday, Aug 7th from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Part 2 will be an in person training with a parking enforcement officer. This meeting will adhere to social distancing guidelines.The in person training will be on Saturday, Aug 8th from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and will be held at Austin City Hall (301 W. 2nd St.) In person training will comply with physical distancing measures and will be limited in size to allow for 6 feet of distance between attendees. Volunteers and instructors must both wear face coverings during the training.

Please register for both days of the training session. Austin Transportation Department, in partnership with the Austin Police Department, provides the opportunity for volunteers to assist in addressing illegally parked vehicles in designated accessible parking spaces. Through volunteering with the Accessible Parking Enforcement Program, volunteers will help ensure accessible parking is available for those who need to legally utilize accessible parking spaces.

After receiving training, volunteers will be able to issue citations and warnings to motorists illegally parked in designated accessible parking spaces and will educate the community on the importance of keeping these spaces open for those who are legally entitled to use them.
